What is Caravan?

Caravan is a weekly scouting—or kids' club—type of program committed to the spiritual, social, mental, and physical growth of children. It uses an active, hands-on learning approach to help kids know God and learn to be His disciple in every aspect of their lives.The Caravan ministry exists to help elementary age children become more like Jesus by encouraging their growth in the four specific areas mentioned in Luke 2:52: mental (wisdom), physical (stature), spiritual (favor with God), and social (favor with men).

Benson's Buddies (Age 4 to Kindergarten)
Benson's Buddies is a weekly kids club designed for children who are age four to kindergarten. Benson, the pretend double-decker bus, escorts young kids on weekly trips as they discover the shopping mall, the zoo, the farm, school, and many other places. Benson's Buddies teaches children about the world in which they live and lays the foundation for Christian living.

Searchers (1st and 2nd Graders)
Searchers learn about the basic beliefs of the church.  Also Searchers can earn up to 15 scouting badges a year which they may display on their Caravan scarf!  If a Searcher earns all of their requirements for two years, they receive the Bunker badge.
 
Explorers (3rd and 4th Graders)
Explorers learn Articles of Faith 1-8 of the Church of the Nazarene and four of the Core Values in the Christian Life: holiness; evangelism, missions, and character.  Also Explorers can earn up to 10 badges a year which they may display on their Caravan sash.  If an Explorer earns all of their requirements for two years, they receive the Winans badge.

Adventurers (5th and 6th Graders)
Adventures learn Articles of Faith 9-16 and four of the Core Values in the Christian Life: service, compassion, education, work.  Also Adventurers can earn up to 10 badges a year which they may display on their Caravan sash.  If an Adventurer earns all of their requirements for two years, they receive the Lillenas badge.  If an Adventurer earns all of the requirements for not only the two years as an Adventurer, but also the two years as an Explorer, they earn the Bresee Award.
