Children's Quizzing

Competition is a key part of the Children's Bible Quizzing ministry. Each child participates in a series of Saturday competition events with other Nazarene churches. In order for a child to achieve well in competition, one to two hours per week of Bible study is advised at home.

Children's Quizzing is a Bible Study for children in grades 1-6. The philosophy of Children's Bible Quizzing is Bible study. It is important to help children know what the Bible says and help them demonstrate biblical teachings in actual life situations.

Each Bible study not only helps children understand this chronology, but the people in each lesson come to life as children learn about their humanity and place in God's plans. While God often uses miracles to achieve His purposes, He prefers to work in relationship with His beloved creation: people.

The purpose of Children's Quizzing Bible study and competition is to help children:
• Discover how to study the Bible.
• Desire to study the Bible.
• Grow in understanding of the overall chronology of the Bible.
• Learn that God is the central character and Hero of the Bible.
• Gain increased understanding of God as He is revealed in each study.
• Understand how people in the Bible interacted with God, and know how people today may do so also.
• Enjoy quizzing competition.
• Grow in the ability to reflect Christian attitudes and behaviors during competition.

INVITATIONALS: Competition begins with practice quizzes to prepare for official competition. Invitationals occur when one or more churches organize, plan, prepare questions, and invite other churches to participate.

The ZONE/AREA Competition: This is the first official level of competition. Any child from churches within the designated zone/area may participate in this competition.

The DISTRICT Competition: This is the second official level of competition. Children who reach the designated score level at the zone/area competition may attend and participate in the district competition.

The REGIONAL Competition: This is a competition between two or more districts/states. The regional coordinator (or participating district directors) finalizes the date, location, and qualifications. Most quizzers do not participate on this level because of time involved and expenses.

WORLD Competition: This is the highest level of official competition. A World Competition is held every four years. Children who reach a designated qualifying score at the District competition qualify to participate in the World Quiz. The World Quiz takes place in the United States, but children from all over the world are invited. Most quizzers do not participate on this level because of time involved and expenses.

There are two levels of Children's Bible Quizzing.
1. RED Level is designed for a 1st-3rd grade comprehension level or for children generally 6-8 years old.
2. BLUE Level is designed for a 4th-6th grade comprehension level or for children generally 9-12 years old.
Levels are not limited to certain grades or ages.

The cost of Children’s Bible Quizzing is $12.50 to cover the cost for the workbook.
