We had another great day yesterday. We had some off and on rain throughout the day but that did not dampen our spirits.
Our day began with a devotional from Pastor Aaron Webster on Ephesians 2:8-10. He focused on verse 10 and reminded the team that God had a special plan for each person on this trip.
After breakfast we headed to the worksite for our second workday. The day started a little slow at the worksite. We needed to move some leftover rocks off hill to a concentrated pile so that they could be used in the pouring of the floor. It was tedious work but our team did a great job and laughed the whole way through! Soon, the go ahead was given to begin putting primer on the inside walls and ceiling of the church building. Without scaffolding, this was no easy task. We used chairs, pews, and empty barrels to stand on in order to reach the high points in the church. We did not quite finish this project when we needed to quit for the day.
Today (our Friday… your Thursday night) will be very important for the team on the work project. Please pray for us as you go down to bed on Thursday night. Our goal today is to complete the primer, put plaster on the walls and ceiling, and pour the floor. They would like for us to complete all of this on Friday so they can lock the doors and let the floor set until Sunday (the day of the dedication service). If we complete this, we may use Saturday as a sightseeing day. Then, we will return to work on Monday and/or Tuesday to complete the painting of the church.
Some other side projects at the worksite are also being completed. We have put in the window frames, front doors, and the Indian workers have put a couple of rows of bricks on the sides of the walkways.
Tonight’s VBS was a great success. Thirty-two kids came and heard the story of Noah’s Ark.
Following VBS, we once again went to a home of a family of the Peniel Church. We prayed, sang, shared, and heard a devotional from Ted Diehr on Romans 5:1-5. There is a rumor going around that Pastor Scott nodded off during this prayer meeting. It is only a rumor.
We ended the day with another great meal at 9 PM at the hotel.
A few of our team were feeling sick yesterday morning, but by the end of our day everyone seemed to be feeling better. Please pray for the health of the team. God has been so good to us and we are shouting His praise!!!
